Charles Signorino M.D.

In Loving Memory
Charles "Gino" Eugene Signorino
July 7, 1938 - August 30, 2002

A Servant of God Who Served Mankind
Dr. Charles "Gino" Signorino M.D. was considered one of the best ringside physicians with the Golden Gloves, the Police Athletic League, Silver Gloves, National Collegiate Boxing and the Native American Sports Council, began his interest in youth athletic activities and amateur boxing in Las Vegas. Dedicated to promoting health, safety and prevention of injury, he traveled tirelessly to tournaments throughout the country and the world, often with his wife, Sherie.

Dr. Signorino earned the love and admiration of the athletes he came in contact with, taking particular pride in personally knowing the kids by name and background. They knew he would protect them with his ethics, thorough understanding of the rules of the sport and his medical knowledge. The concern and selfless giving that exemplified Gino's life work characterized him as a premier sports medicine physician.

Not only did Dr. Signorino love the sport of boxing, but appreciated what it does to save boys and girls from life on the mean streets of America, by instilling pride, discipline, self-respect and confidence.

Dr. Signorino was Co-Chairman of USA Boxing's Medical Committee, and was to be elected this past November in Cairo, Egypt, as the only U.S. physician in the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA).
